Ruth Riley named Assistant Dean for Executive Affairs at USC School of Medicine
Ruth Riley, M.S., AHIP, director of library services at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, has been appointed assistant dean for executive affairs at the School of Medicine. She will continue in her role as director of library services, a position she has held since joining the School of Medicine in Prior to arriving at USC, Riley held positions in academic health sciences libraries at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, the University of Michigan and the University of Missouri. A native of Kansas, Riley earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology at the University of Kansas and a M.S. degree in library and information science at the University of Illinois. Riley is a Distinguished Member of the Academy of Health Information Professionals and has served as secretary of the Association of Academic Health Sciences Libraries, chair of the Southern Chapter of the Medical Library Association and chair of the Partnership Among South Carolina Academic Libraries.
