Dr. Elizabeth Baxley Presents as Keisler Visiting Scholar in Family Medicine

Dr. Elizabeth “Libby” Baxley, senior associate dean for academic affairs at the East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine, recently gave a talk to the School of Medicine Department of Family and Preventive Medicine as the David L. Keisler Visiting Scholar in Family Medicine.

The title of her presentation was “Health System Science: the Third Science of Medical Education.”

Baxley, an SOM alumna, served as chair of the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine from 2003 to 2012.

Her work focuses on improving the delivery of health care through system redesign, patient and family engagement, the team-based care model, and patient safety and quality improvement education.
